Several spelling and grammar improvements for the English version.
All smart meters in Switzerland come with an interface that should enable the owner to access the collected data themselves. The technical aspect of this access, however, is not trivial, as it requires special hardware and software.
Summary: Hermann Hüni, from gPlug.ch, gives a presentation on smart meters and reading data via their local customer interface.
I can see where you are coming from on this one, yes. I have since changed the wording of this in both the German and the English versions. Alternatively, I have added a more thorough rewrite of the text in two comments further down.
Let me know what you think.
Here is the English translation for the reworded text:
The process of installing smart meters in Swiss homes has been on-going for several years. The aim is to replace all conventional electricity meters across the country by 2027. In Bern, EWB started the installing devices of the types L+G E450 and Ensor eRS801 last year.
All smart meters installed in this country come with an interface that should enable the owner to access the collected data themselves. However, different manufacturers use different interfaces and not all grid operators install the same smart meters. This leads to a very heterogeneous landscape.
Hermann Hüni has analyzed the smart meters of various manufacturers and their respective interfaces. Finally, he developed a series of IoT adapters called gPlug. These can be connected to the smart meters of various manufacturers via the customer interface. They make the smart meter data available on a website in the local network via WLAN or transmit it to a smart home system via MQTT.
In his presentation, he provides an overview of the smart meter landscape in Switzerland. He also talks about the technical challenges in designing the electronics of the gPlug and the development of their open source firmware. After a live demonstration, there will be a Q&A session.
fixed.
"Despite the gPlug's simple exterior, there is a lot of engineering behind it"
that one
I ha mer no fougendi Umformulierig überleit:
